  We will be returning to Castle Rock State Park for our May trip.  This was one of our most popular trips in 2009.

We will be returning to Castle Rock State Park for our May trip.  This was one of our most popular trips in 2009.  We will be doing it a bit differently this year.  Our plan is to park at Camp Chesebrough and then enter the park from the western boundary.  We will enter the park at Sempervirens Point and hike on the Saratoga Toll Road and Travertine Trails before arriving at the trail camp.  After spending the night, we will hike out on the Loghry Woods, Skyline and Skyline to the Sea Trails.  This will be a bit more distance than last year’s trip.  I don’t have the exact mileage yet, but I would guess it will be around 5 miles per day.

The cost of the trip is estimated to be between $25 and $30 for scouts and $15 for adults.  Signups will begin at tomorrow night’s troop meeting.
